SUMMARY:Blessing of the Fisheries
DESCRIPTION:It looks like a glorious day for the fisherfolk of Folkesto
 ne as they gather with clergy and locals for the annual Blessing of the 
 Fisheries ceremony.  The procession will start from St Peter’s Church
  on The Durlocks and make it's way down to the Stade.  It will follow i
 n the standard tradition\, with the vicar giving a speech about the impo
 rtance of respecting and protecting the sea and its bounty\, as well as 
 remembering all those who risk their lives on boats\, whether for work o
 r refuge. Then he will bless the sea\, the boats\, the nets and the fish
 ermen and women with holy water and incense\, while everyone sings hymns
  and prays for a safe and fruitful season.
