SUMMARY:Coat of Hope Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The Coat of Hopes is in Folkestone \nOn Sunday 29th June 20
25\, something remarkable arrived in Folkestone. After travelling nearly
  1800 miles on foot\, the Coat of Hopes\, a living\, breathing patchwork
of shared dreams made its way to our town.\nThis isn’t just any coat.
  It’s a community-crafted\, ever-growing artwork on a walking pilgrima
ge through Britain. Since it began its journey from Newhaven in 2021\, t
he Coat has travelled across the UK\, visiting towns and cities\, collec
ting hundreds of blanket patches stitched with people’s hopes for the
places they call home.\nNow in its fourth year with no set destination\,
the Coat continues walking as a quiet act of solidarity in the face of
climate and ecological crisis. At every stop\, it offers an invitation:
 to pause\, reflect\, and connect - with ourselves\, with each other\, an
d with the living world around us.\nCome see the Coat for yourself\nYou'
ll find it at Folkestone Museum from 1:30pm\; you can welcome the Coat a
nd the pilgrims travelling with it. You’ll have the chance to see\, to
uch\, and even wear this extraordinary coat—and hear the powerful song
that accompanies it.  It'll be at the Museum until the end of August.\
nThis is not a funded project. It’s a grassroots movement fuelled by k
indness\, creativity and community. It lives on through the people who c
hoose to walk with it\, sing for it\, sew new patches\, and open their d
oors to strangers. Everyone is welcome to be part of it.\nGet involved:
Workshop at The Kollectiv\nYour story too can become a part of a bigger
journey. Join for this free workshop with artist Deborah Crofts where yo
u’ll embroider an object that symbolises your personal story into the
great patchwork of the Coat of Hopes.\nThis free\, friendly session is y
our chance to share a personal story of hope\, which could become part o
f the Coat’s ongoing journey. You’ll join others in an intimate\, in
clusive space—and maybe even try on the Coat yourself.\nThis is a free
workshop\, but you need to bring your object. It can be absolutely anyt
hing. \nRegistration necessary. \nLearn more about the Coat
