Holy Saturday Easter Vigil at St Eanswythes

Time:
-
Location:
Folkestone. More info
Calendar:

There’s an old Christian tradition that we can begin to celebrate key festivals after sunset the night before. With this in mind (and not just because we can’t wait…) St Eanswythes Church congregation kick off their Easter celebrations at 8pm on Saturday 19th.

It’s a fabulous service for lots of reasons, but one significant symbol is that as the world outside moves from light into darkness, the church moves from darkness into light.

The focus is Jesus, the risen light of the world, represented by the Easter candle which is lit from the new fire and brought into the church. You will hear stories of God’s love for his faithful people and then begin to celebrate the risen Jesus in worship (and with a glass of fizz and nibbles at the end!).

Why not give it a try?!
